Christian Dior (21 January 1905, Granville, Manche – 24 October 1957), was an influential French fashion designer, best known as the founder of one of the world’s top fashion houses, also called Christian Dior.
Christian Dior was born in Granville, Manche, a seaside town on the coast of France. His family, whose fortune was derived from the manufacture of fertilizer, had hopes he would become a diplomat, but Dior only wished to be involved in mostly fashion, but sketching as well. To make money, he sold his fashion sketches outside for about 10 cents each. After leaving school he received money from his father so that in 1928 he could open a small art gallery, where he sold art by the likes of Pablo Picasso.

Yardley of London is a traditional British cosmetics brand and is one of the oldest in the world. Established in 1770, Yardley had become recognised as a world leader in soap and perfumery by the beginning of the 20th century. By 1910, it moved to London’s premier thoroughfare Bond Street, and in 1921 Yardley received its first Royal Warrant, an honour bestowed on only the finest British companies that provide outstanding service. Today, Yardley holds two Royal Warrants. The Yardley family traces its history back to the 15th century.

Boots is also available in the Republic of Ireland, Norway and other territories. The company has been a subsidiary of Alliance Boots since 31 July 2006 after Boots Group plc merged with Alliance UniChem plc and combines the former Boots the Chemist Ltd and Boots Stores Ltd. Management of all staff was moved from Boots UK to Boots Management services on July 1, 2010

Estée Lauder (July 1, 1906 – April 24, 2004) was the American co-founder, with her husband Joseph Lauder, of Estée Lauder Companies, a pioneering cosmetics company. Lauder was the only woman on TIME magazine’s 1998 list of the 20 most influential business geniuses of the 20th century. She was the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 1988.

The Shulton Company, original producer of Old Spice, was founded in 1934 by William Lightfoot Schultz. The first Old Spice product was a fragrance called Early American Old Spice for women, introduced in 1937. Old Spice for men followed in 1938.
The early men’s products were dominated by shaving soap and aftershave lotion, marketed with a nautical theme. Sailing ships, in particular were used as a trademark. The original ships used on the packaging were the Grand Turk and the Friendship. Other ships used on Old Spice packaging include the John Wesley, Salem, Birmingham, Maria Teresa, Propontis, Recovery, Sooloo, Star of the West, Constitution, Java, United States, and Hamilton. Procter & Gamble purchased Old Spice from the Shulton Company in June 1990. The clipper ship was replaced by the yacht logo in February 1992. In the late 2000s, Procter & Gamble introduced many forms of deodorant sticks, body washes, and body sprays in several scents under the Old Spice brand.
