Maxwell House is a brand of coffee manufactured by a like-named division of Kraft Foods. Introduced in 1892, it is named in honor of the Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. For many years until the late 1980s it was the largest-selling coffee in the U.S. and is currently (ca. 2007) second behind Folgers, which is manufactured by The J.M. Smucker Co. The company recently unveiled a new slogan, “Good Just Got Great,” visible on their website. However, it is best known for its longtime slogan, “Good to the last drop,” and is still running ads featuring the line.

Mr Kipling is a brand of cakes, pies and baked goods widely marketed in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It was introduced in 1967 (at a time when cakes were more often bought from local bakers) to sell cakes of a local baker’s standard to supermarkets. The trademark is owned by Premier Foods, after its acquisition of Rank Hovis McDougall (RHM) in 2007.

Mr Kipling’s Cakes are made by the RHM subsidiary known as Manor Bakeries Ltd. which also produces products under the Lyon’s and Cadbury names. The Cadbury cakes are produced under licence from Cadbury plc, the owners of the brand name.

Branding

With advertising using the phrase “exceedingly good cakes”, and television commercials which originally featured the voice of actor James Hayter, the brand had become the market leader in the UK by 1976, a position it still holds over thirty years later. Varieties of single-serving and individually wrapped cakes have also been marketed.

1978 – Fiat Supermirafiori

The Fiat 131, additionally called “Mirafiori”, is a small/medium family car produced by the Italian car manufacturer Fiat from 1974 to 1984. It was exhibited at 1974 Turin Motor Show.

The 131 was the replacement for the successful Fiat 124, and available as a 2-door and 4-door saloon and 5-door estate. The 131 was given the Mirafiori name after the Turin suburb where the cars were produced. Naming the car in this way marked a break with the former Fiat convention, established in the 1960s, of naming their mainstream models only with a three digit number, and it set the pattern for Fiat to adopt Anglo-American style car naming practice, with carefully chosen names for subsequent new models. Initially, the 131 was offered with 1.3 L and 1.6 L single overhead camshaft engines. Revisions were made in 1978 and 1981, and all models were produced until production ceased in 1984.

The RTÉ Guide is a television and radio listings magazine in Ireland published by RTÉ Commercial Enterprises Ltd, a subsidiary of Raidió Teilifís Éireann.

The magazine offers detailed programme listings for RTÉ channels, as well as TV3, TG4, 3e, BBC, UTV, and Channel 4, as well as less detailed listings for a number of satellite channels. RTÉ Radio programme listings are also published. Lifestyle and celebrity articles are also included in the magazine.

The RTÉ Guide began publication on 1 December 1961 as the RTV Guide and changed its name to its current name in 1966. Early on listings were carried for the BBC but were dropped after a few years. Until 1991 only RTÉ programme listings were carried, but following UK listings magazines deregulation, the magazine began carrying BBC, UTV and Channel 4 listings also.

Lyons Tea is one of Ireland’s biggest and best-loved brands. Anyone on the island of Ireland over the last few decades knows the jingle ‘Extra quality, Extra flavour, Lyons the Quality Tea’ unless you were hiding under a rock.

Our other claim to fame is introducing Ireland to the first ever pyramid-shaped tea bag! Generations of Irish families have grown up with Lyons Tea. For them it will always be entwined with their memories of home and homecoming
