Advert for Corona drinks 1976. Every bubble’s passed its physical.

Corona was a brand of carbonated beverage available in the United Kingdom and produced by Corona Soft Drinks. The firm was created by Rhondda grocers William Thomas and William Evans when they saw a market for soft drinks caused by the growing influence of the temperance movement in South Wales. The companies first factory was based in Porth, and eventually the company had 87 depots. (more…)

KIA ORA

We all adore Kia Ora!

It takes its name from kia ora, a Māori language greeting which has entered New Zealand English. It means literally “be well/healthy” and is used for both “hello” and “goodbye”. The name was first used for a lemon squash by Arthur Gasquoine of Sydney, Australia, who founded an ice and soft-drink business in 1896. First created in Australia in 1903, ‘Kia-Ora’ was launched in Great Britain in 1917.
